Growing
up without a dad has made Dexter quite self-reliant - and more than a
little crafty. He doesn’t like to dwell on the bad and certainly doesn’t
have time for self-pity.
Dexter’s philosophy is to keep his head down and crack on with his life. It’s what’s kept him out of trouble on his estate - that and his mum Ava’s watchful eye. This doesn’t mean Dexter can’t hold his own in a fight. He’ll push back if pushed hard enough, but he’ll pick his battles. When Ava tried to help Bianca, Dexter was determined to stop her... he's been there, done that with the kids on his estate, and wants no reminders of the life he could have been leading if it wasn't for his mom. It seems like his worries were founded, as when Ava and Bianca sent the police to Kane's house, the rest of the gang sought payback and trashed his house.
